Tough times are ushering in the bartering economy

Boston Biz Journal

"Well beyond the days of swapping one goat for 30 chickens, business-to-business barter has gained fresh cachet during a recession marked by dried-up credit markets and slumping sales across most industries."

“The interest in barter has just taken off like wildfire in the last year and a half,” said McDowell. “The economy has a lot to do with it because people haven’t figured out how to adjust. They’re sitting there with inventory on their shelves and no customers. The whole concept of barter is that it provides people with new customers that they didn’t have before.”

Is barter better suited for real estate rentals than sales???
