519 new foreclosures were filed in Massachusetts over this past week, ending Friday, April 10, 2009, 521 less new foreclosed properties than last week with 1040 new foreclosure filings.
Broken down by county, Barnstable County had 39 foreclosures, Berkshire County had 6 foreclosures, Bristol County had 61 foreclosures, Dukes County had 2 foreclosures, Essex County had 68 foreclosures, Franklin County had 5 foreclosures, Hampden County had 37 foreclosures, Hampshire County had 7 foreclosures, Middlesex County had 68 foreclosures, Nantucket County had 2 foreclosures, Norfolk County had 44 foreclosures, Plymouth County had 62 foreclosures, Suffolk County had 50 foreclosures, and Worcester County had 68 foreclosures.
The biggest movers from last week to this week were Berkshire County (20% increase, 5 -> 6), Hampshire County (12% decrease, 8 -> 7), and Barnstable County (26% decrease, 53 -> 39).
As the volume of foreclosures fluctuates from week to week, we much prefer to look at the number of new foreclosures over the past 60 days.
